happy book buyer.

Too drained out to do much, frenetic shopping combined with first (heavy flow) day of menses do not make for a very energetic duh^knees.

Still, the shopping was good, got myself a new (cheapo) pair of earrings, 4 pairs of socks, a CD for my dad's belated birthday, two books and a top. Blew $100 in all, with half of that amount going to the two books itself. Still, I never think it's a waste of money buying books.

They were "Douglas Adams' Hitchhikers Guide", 5 in 1, and Yann Martel's Life of Pi. The first thing when I thought when I saw the book was, ugh, bad cover. Yes, yes, the hoary old cliche does spring to mind, but I think that book covers do play a substantial role in the purchase/non-purchase of a book. The synopsis on the back was pretty bad too, and I'm hoping that it doesn't do the book justice, something about 'finding out about life and about God'. Very Paulo Coelho. I nearly didn't buy the book for those two reasons, but I quite liked what I read inside so I bought it. I'm thinking Hitchhiker would take me through the long haul of the holidays, so I bought it.

I'm one very contented girl.
